Camshaft BearingsWhat is “Long Term” Automotive Engine Protection?
Implications for Your Engine: Camshaft Bearings Protection in Test Trials
(SEE PICTURES BELOW)

Engine Testing pitted passenger car motor oil formula with EnginALL vs. a premium racing formula motor oil with its own additives.
Engine A formula (with EnginALL) provided excellent lubrication protection of the camshaft bearings all throughout the tests. So much so that the original manufacturer’s machining lines were still quite noticeable.

Engine B (racing formula) did not produce the same protection for the camshaft bearings as the EnginALL formula produced. Manufacturer’s machining lines were not visible in its camshaft bearings.

Deterioration of camshaft bearings can cause serious engine damage, not to mention the poorer performance of the engine.

Results of the protective lubricating properties of the EnginALL formula for these
camshaft bearings are consistent with took place in other metallic areas of the Engine A. (See Dynamometer Summary)

Camshaft Bearings:
|
| |
|
| What happened: |
The camshaft bearing arrangement must be able to support the operational load of the camshaft. Deterioration of camshaft bearing can cause serious damage to an engine. We noticed that the camshaft bearings in engine A had minimal wear, in fact, the original machining lines we still noticeable. |
| |
|
| Why did it happen: |
The motor oil provided superior protection to camshaft bearings. |
| |
|
| Why is this important: |
Deterioration of a camshaft bearing can cause serious damage to an engine. |
| |
|
| Vehicle application: |
This is necessary in any combustion engine. It is important that camshaft bearings perform under heavy loads with out significant deterioration. |
